About Us
Located on the borders of IBERIA and ST. MARY Parishes near JEANERETTE, La.
We are a group of VOLUNTEER LDWF INSTRUCTORS, that teach youths and adults
in the surrounding areas Hunter Safety and Education.
Specializing in Wildlife Conservation, Hunter Ethics, Safety, and Firearms Marksmanship,
with hopes of providing a safer future in the sport of hunting and shooting.
The JEANERETTE JUNIOR HUNTER EDUCATION CLUB,INC., is a NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION
intertwined with the LOUISIANAN HUNTER EDUCATION INSTRUCTORS ASSOCIATION which
is a subsidiary of the LOUISIANA DEPARTMENT of WILDLIFE and FISHERIES EDUCATION DEPARTMENT.
It is without a doubt, one of the best extracurricular activities that the Louisiana Government offers our youths.
In this organization boys and girls (ages 10-18) develop personal ethics, self control,
firearms safety,and markmanship skills.
Club members receive many benefits, such as free memberships to Ducks Unlimited and NRA.
They also enjoy camping, and hunting trips. They learn to use their skills in Archery, Shotgun, Muzzleloader, .22 Rifle, Orienteering, Wildlife ID, and Hunter Safety to compete in State and National Competitions.
Registration is open in Janurary of each year. A hunter safety coarse is required.
We are self-funded by hosting Sporting Clay and Archery Fun Shoots, donations and support from local businesses and Sponsors.
All proceeds are used for club member practices, club activities, and range upkeep
